Today in the Get City camp we are creating GIS maps to show where our food comes from, how to travels to us, and how that impacts our environment. Yesterday we interviewed Granny to learn more about how she cooks. We did homework on what are parents favorite foods, and we recorded what our stories are about our favorite foods. Also today, we tried smoothies and did a test by closing are eyes and Day said to everyone think about mangos and only two kids smelled banana everytime that she asked something different. Ms Reanna asked everyone what kind of food we ate yesterday and we made a list of the food we had. Ms Reanna also said for the homework to ask are parents where did they get the food from. What they liked about it was that they got to talk to their parents about their culture and what food are in there culture. What everyone also liked about it was when we shared are stories in Get City about what we like about some food. Also got to share are thought with the Get City kids and Granny. Granny shared to us about how she got the food and made it. In the Get City camp everyone had fun and they plan to come to get city in the fall! A&L (With help from K)
