The Fall session of GET City has kicked off with the crew from our intensive Summer session back to continue work on their green design. 

During the Summer 2011 Program, GET City got a chance to visit a bunch of sites in Michigan that are leaders in sustainable building design, and hosted several experts that shared their work and ideas with the group.  Here are some highlights.

Federico Steinvorth of MSU’s School of Planning, Design & Construction visited GET City to talk about thermal insulation and insulation efficiency.  He brought along a thermal camera and let the group take some fun pictures.

This week begins the summer session of GET City, held on the campus of MSU.  The crew above will be diving into LEED design (that’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and checking out sustainable building design, green roof technology, thermal imaging, and designing buildings using Google Sketchup!  Stay tuned for more fun…
